I am Bryan Lewis the Poet and I appreciate you visiting me to share my collection of poems that are written to inspire, encourage and motivate you to be the best that you can be at home, in the community, in relationships and in life. Individuals express themselves in many different ways, God has blessed me to be a poet with writings that  from the heart. You did not come on our site by accident, I know that you will find something up here that will be a blessing to you and that will bring about a change in your life. I will have some of my poems displayed for your reading and edification in order to empower you to be all that you were created to be. I am proud to be able to call myself an author. Why I Write Poetry In case you wanted to know why I write poetry here’s a few words. I write because it sets my mind free. Poetry can make you feel at peace with the world around you. I’ve been writing poetry since I was 6 years old. I never thought I would develop such a passion for it. I grew up reading poetry from the great poets like Langston Hughes, Maya Angelou, Common, Alice Walker, and Zora Neale Hurston. Their poetry just made me say one day I would love to be named among them.  I write because sometimes it’s hard to speak your feelings, so I write them out. When I’m inspired by something or someone I like to write about it. To be honest I feel like my life is playing to be just one big poetry book. I’ve gone through so much and I’m only 20. Never imagined my life would be where it’s at right now but I thank God for where he has brought me from. The poetry I write is from the heart. From my soul I write what I feel.
